Why is the issue of the attack on the USS Liberty STILL relevant?

The USS Liberty attack represents a very uncomfortable time in US history and it exposes the cynical, immoral, duplicitous expediency  of US politics, US-Israeli foreign policy and a continuing lack of accountability.

34 men died and 174 men were wounded on June 8th, 1967 and still after 40+ years, no one to this day in the US government can say nor care or prove the “who, what and why” this tragedy occurred.  It was decreed an  “accident”, though this was never proven at any level.

The US government and the State of Israel have both decreed the attack was an unfortunate “fortune of war”" and thus IT MUST warrant no further explanations, justification, evidence to that ‘official’ determination.

To simply ask how a combined Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) air and sea attack in international waters  that lasted over an hour was “accidental” defies reality.

The crew and their families have been lied to, forsaken, forgotten, ignored, slandered and disrespected on so many levels for so long at the altar of US- Israel “special relationship” and political expediency. Death, sacrifice in service to one’s country is minor compared to the machinations of government policy and incompetence.  It the basis of most cover ups. It is no different here.

People are not stupid.  The US and Israel continue their relations as though this event never happened and for anyone to ask questions about it, to seek answers, to require an accounting is somehow unpatriotic, ‘anti-Semitic’ and unnecessary.

Nothing could be further from the truth. This is the purpose of this website. It is a further continuing open discussion from the “War Without End…The global war against terror from a British (aka American) perspective” website’s “USS Liberty forum” that existed from 2002 to 2009.

Every US Congress, every House Representative, every US Senator and every US President from Lyndon B. Johnson to Barack  Obama from 1967 to the present less a minuscule few courageous exceptions have ignored the crewmen and the families’ call for a simple investigation. To simply tell their their side of the story “for the record”.

If it was an accident, then what is there to fear? Such truths proven  settles all doubt and unanswered questions  but both governments STILL refuse to address these concerns. Why? They don’t give a damn and they never did because money and politics trump justice, truth and accountability in our new world order.

A “blue dress with body fluids” warrants lengthy Congressional oversight as did the USS Pueblo, USS Cole, USS Greeneville  from folly to the serious yet the USS Liberty and 34 dead servicemen, 174 wounded never raises an eyebrow but an eye roll.

This is the purpose and design and the goal to demonstrate that some still remember, some still care and calling a spade a spade. That injustice allowed is still wrong and always will be. That is why the attack on the USS Liberty is still relevant.
