USS Liberty’s Presidential Unit Citation, “The Red Haired Step-Child” Award of the United States Government

The United States Presidential Unit Citation is the highest unit recognition award  of the Armed Forces of the United States (according to Wiki) for “extraordinary heroism in action against an armed enemy” and “the unit must display such gallantry, determination, and esprit de corps in accomplishing its mission under extremely difficult and hazardous conditions so as to set it apart from and above other units participating in the same campaign.”.   Wiki lists 128 times the Presidential Unit Citation has been awarded since its creation during WW2. Wiki also states that the unit citation is an equivalent of the Distinguished Service Cross , The Air Force Cross or the The Navy Cross if awarded to an individual. Their listings are quoted from US military sources and includes all wars, actions, the Cold War from WW2 to the Present day.

Nor will you  find the ‘PUC’ award listed in Wiki for the USS Liberty for the uncomfortable truth of the deliberate attack.  Here is the award below. (click to enlarge)

And to even go further in insult is that the award has no mention of the State of Israel mentioned in it.   Not for history.  Not for the record.  It was for political expediency, the pandering for the US pro-Israel vote,  AIPAC  money and support for the Viet Nam war.

Governmental cowardice  seems to runs deep in 1967.  So when you hear someone say the “attack was accidental” or that there was no political sell out of the USS Liberty crew. Tell them they are full of crap.

There is no mention in it of the State of Israel. AIPAC money runs deep.

There is no mention in it of the State of Israel. AIPAC money runs deep.

And if Wiki and the shameless Congress and every shameless President and US official who bows and genuflects in front of the ‘Altar of the US-Israeli ‘special relationship’ since 1967 will not remember or honor the dead or seek the hidden truth the sacrifices this forsaken crew has  endured. Their silence speaks volumes for this disgrace.  Let alone let the USS Liberty survivors and the families  get simple answers, the truth and the right to tell their story for the first time for history  and for for the truth.

We remember because they earned it with their blood, their valor and courage,  the memory of the forsaken 34 dead that they alone with their families still honor and their heroic sworn duty which was carried out so well.  It was never for sale.

REMEMBER THE USS LIBERTY
