A. Jay Cristol: Israel’s ‘Unofficial’ Liar

“Top Gun Ahron” goes under the microscope again.  It’s just too much fun to show his dubious loyalty, his blatant dishonesty and demonstrate his cowardice in refusing to answer the USS Liberty survivor’s questions.  After all truth and justice was never his goal just another transparent attempt to apologize for Israel’s deliberate attack and murders of  USS Liberty on June 8, 1967 disguised in his book  of shoddy scholarship.

In A. Jay  Cristol’s  ‘USS Liberty Apologist Manual’ aka The Liberty Incident, (out of print) states and restates many times that the attack on the USS Liberty underwent 13 investigations.  It’s a number he pulled out of his ass as this is his real expertise and practice.

Let’s examine one of the investigations and find out what he didn’t say.

1.)   The U.S. Navy Court of Inquiry. It convened near midnight in London less than 36 hours after the attack while the remains were still entombed in USS Liberty torpedoed security spaces  limping its way to Malta.  The Court of Inquiry lasted 8 days  (including travel time).

For the record, USS Cole’s inquiry lasted a year, USS  Stark lasted six months, USS Jacksonville lasted two months including a reenactment at sea. Waiting for the final report (public version) to be released took more time than the investigation, I guess someone was late for their nap.

You can’t rush the truth but for Israel, the US  govt  will make an exception.

It interviewed only 13 Liberty crew members out of 294 minus the dead in just two days.  It excluded input from 60+ Liberty crewmen in its  ‘predetermined’ pursuit of fact finding.  The deck was stacked at the White House while the ship was still taking in water.

“It was not the responsibility of the court to rule on the culpability of the attackers, and no evidence was heard from the attacking nation”*

And ‘Israel*’ by name isn’t mentioned above as the attacking nation for some reason and it wasn’t mentioned until page 21 of the public version of the Navy COI.

It concluded from this without any evidence that the attack was “accidental”.  Yet still had to admit in its findings of fact that “radar jamming of US Naval radio frequencies by Israeli jets occurred”.

The State of Israel took a month for their own investigation and then used much of the  US Navy court’s conclusions in some dual governmental consensus as  this  mutual orchestration would  became the “official story”.
