The Only Day the US ‘Israel First’ Media Mentioned the USS Liberty and that was to Smear and Discredit the Attack Whoddathunkit?

In June 8th, 2007, the US corporate network media  never mentioned, commemorated or televised a single report about the attack on the USS Liberty 40+ year old controversy.   It was the  the 40th anniversary of the USS Liberty attack and according to the “unwritten rule” or laziness/pressure or disloyalty,  not a mention or word spoken, nor a simple remembrance from the “patriotic”  ‘neocon’  FOX Network or the “liberal” CNN or the GE owned NBC, or Disney’s ABC, et al.

To their credit USTODAY dropped any mention or association to the USS Liberty and Von Brunn wire story on June 18; so the option existed

Not a word, no mention of the USS Liberty Veterans Association’s 30 year struggle to get answers and an accounting for the deadly June day.  What else is new?

Yet let’s move up to June 10th, 2009 and the media came alive. Woke up from it’s long dormant sleep to announce in media, television, radio and magazines the capture of 88 yr. old  James Van Brunn for killing a guard at a museum in Washington DC.   Investigations, hearings, due process and a trial will determine the facts and his fate.

Hold on there USS Liberty survivors and families!!,  “not for you”. You’re an embarrasment to the US govt and Israel. Not yours.

Now someone tell me why a site that mentioned the USS Liberty attack warrants such inclusion?  It is a back handed smear to associate the USS Liberty attack to hate groups and crime.   No other purpose is served.  Nobody in support of the USS Liberty had any association with Von Brunn but look at this hatchet job.  Why would it even be mentioned at all? unless all of Von Brunn’s websites/associations are mentioned as well? but they are not. But including the USS Liberty attack  warrants a nationwide wire service story and  association to the “yes it was a “Blatant attack”"??

The corporate have never mentioned the USS Liberty in 40 years, why now?

It’s corporate media doing what they do best and it explains why no one buys newspapers anymore and  explains declining television network/cable news viewership.  Google it, count the stories/connections.  No mention or explanation of the incident is documented, no history or its controversy for the uninformed.  Just associate it with a 88 yr old alleged killer and hate groups. They drove the curious to the internet for answers. Some will understand and learn.

Let’s do a Google search for James Van Brunn shall we?  Let’s list the coverage in the media’s “objective” lens and see how they reported this crime.

Among other items found in the car were a disabled parking permit, mouthwash, a salt shaker and a roll of quarters totaling $7.25.
Earlier this week investigators filed papers saying among the items discovered in von Brunn’s apartment was a painting that appeared to depict Hitler and Jesus. They also found a .30-30 rifle, ammunition and a handwritten will.”
