Bamford: “Israel fighters and torpedo boats assaulted the ship for more than an hour.”

Ahron Jay Cristol: Who does he really serve?

Cristol: The air attack lasted about 12 minutes and was terminated as soon as the Israel Air Force determined the ship was not an Arab ship. While the Air Force was initiating rescue operations, the torpedo boats approached, stopped, and began signaling to the Liberty. The response of the Liberty was to begin shooting at the torpedo boats which thereupon began the torpedo attack. It lasted less than 15 minutes during which time the navy torpedo boats believed they were facing an enemy who initiated the shooting at them.

Fact: There were 821 cannon, and missile holes not counting the unknown thousands of of machine gun rounds. The USS Liberty Court of Inquiry stated as much. Israel used two wings of  different aircraft in two separate attacks after 8 previous reconnaissance flights in the morning preceding the attack.  Cristol knows this and ignores it.

Fact: Cristol stated the air attacks stopped when they realized it was a US ships yet the torpedo boats came 20 minutes later after the air attacks. Both Israeli  Navy and Air Force groups were in radio contact with their respective commands. Where are the “bullet holes” in the torpedo boats? Cristol knows this and ignores it.

Fact: The aircraft were jamming US naval radio frequecies yet they claim they  did not know it was an American ship?  This was a Finding of Fact by the USS Liberty Court of Inquiry. Cristol knows this and ignores it.

Fact: The Liberty crew stated who state that the torpedo circled the Liberty repeatedly machine gunning the ship even the life rafts, a war crime.  and no one on the Liberty has stated that the attack was less than an hour. Cristol knows this and ignores it.

Then again, A. Jay Cristol  self proclaimed “expertise” is  to distort, obfuscate and tell lies.  It’s what he is supposed to do. It’s why no one uses his book as scholarship. When you’re a proven fraud, any real truth is just as questionable. Cristol has no integrity.

Perhaps if there had been a thorough and complete, open and honest investigation instead of a predetermined, executive cover-up and have the entire crew  interviewed instead of silence, the question of how long the attack was would not still be a matter of speculation.

Here’s a novel idea.  Let’s have a first time, honest open Congressional investigation and ask these questions and allow all members to tell what they saw and witnessed.  The Liberty crew has never been caught in a deliberate lie  nor do they continue to classify records, files and recordings or “lose them” or still keep them secret unlike the US and Israeli government’s continuing and varied versions over the years.

Cristol is a goddamn liar. He knows this as well.
